Supporting-A-Gogo

Horses can take us to the most soaring heights and heartbreaking lows. And unfortunately, right now one of our own is in a point of darkness and uncertainty concerning her beloved mare. I think most of you know who I'm talking about -- Andrea and her incredible girl Gogo.

Andrea has spent the past two years doing anything and everything to rehab Gogo from an injury she suffered while they were competing at the AECs. And despite the most careful, thoughtful, thorough program imaginable, Gogo's prognosis has been steadily declining.

Right now, things are uncertain. I'm sure Andrea is carefully considering every possible angle of her choices, and I know that whatever decision she makes, it will be in Gogo's best interest. To anyone who has read Andrea's blog, it is obvious that she loves that mare with every last fiber of her heart, and she always puts Gogo's well-being above all else.

And while we all hope and pray that there are still many Gogo chapters yet to be written, we just don't know. We want to show Andrea that we're here for her every step of the way, and to give her something to celebrate Gogo's life. Brooke over at Green N' Green = Black And Blue has stepped up and is leading the committee (fitting, since Andrea is the one who collected money for the portrait that we gave to Brooke when she thought Denali was being put down).

Please click here to donate to the fund for Andrea and Gogo -- even $5 will make a big difference. And I'm sure Andrea would appreciate a few kind words of support; believe me, I have had some rough horse-related times and just having someone say, "I'm so sorry you're going through this," makes a huge difference, especially when you see just how many people care about you and your beloved horse.

Let's try and make this dark time as bright as possible for Andrea.

Nina, thank you for your concern. :-) Yes, Salem and I are perfectly fine; I've just been busy and lazy! Hopefully, I'll find some motivation soon.
